QA Pal - Visual QA tool

Vibe-building, still WIP

Role

Designer + Builder (vibe-coding)

QA Pal

QA Pal is a designer-guided, AI-assisted QA tool built to reduce noise, preserve intent, and help designers and engineers look at the same problem — at the same time.

Problem

Designers manually compare Figma and the engineering build, take screenshots, annotate issues, log Jira tickets, align in meetings, wait for fixes — and then repeat the entire process again.

QA today isn’t a straight line.

Despite being a substantial user group, accounting for nearly 30% of the entire buyer segment, hiring managers have historically faced challenges with SAP Fieldglass's interface.

The core issue lies in the system's navigational complexity and inefficacy in presenting relevant worker-related information. ‍

‘No easy way to use the app or understand where to go.’ - from a Fieldglass hiring manager user How could we make SAP Fieldglass more intuitive and efficient for hiring managers when managing external workers?

Solution

For screenshot comparison, user can define the region of interest — what they’re actually shipping or mask ghost area to ignore.

They can also set priorities — for example, being strict about spacing but flexible on copy.

When we run QA, issues are presented one at a time — not as a wall of errors.
Each issue shows a focused visual highlight and a clear delta between expected and actual.

How I built it

I built it with Google AI Studio. Will move to Cursor to develop the local comparison function.

Proposed a New Design Direction

Originally, the Leadership wanted to focus on Global Search and Worker Details page. However, the research shows we users don’t like the global search because the bad performance. And it will require a serious backend effort to improve the search result.

After regroup with the product manager and the developer, I proposed this new direction to the leadership, rethinking dashboard experience to solve the problem of navigation and efficiency. I was able to turn the ambiguity of the project to a more actionable and direction with more potential.
